The GLD Shop is a Pittsburgh-based online jewelry and clothing brand that emerged from spotting fashion trends driven by musicians and athletes. The founders targeted an untapped market for affordable, extremely durable jewelry and are building a designer clothing line to position GLD as a high-end contender. GLD solved these challenges by leaning on a strong social media strategy and hometown support—boosted by co-owner Dan Folger’s connection to Wiz Khalifa—to generate early sales and brand credibility. On the backend they use Shopify tools like Product Reviews for customer feedback and ShipStation for streamlined fulfillment, shipping from their Pittsburgh offices. The result is a growing online-only business with steady traffic and sales driven by social channels and plans to increase marketing spend and pursue a physical presence.
