Spectrum Collections, a South Wales beauty brand founded in 2014, set out to create a distinctive product after ruling out a saturated clothing market. With roots in branding and content creation, the founders spotted boring, animal‑hair makeup brushes as an opportunity and spent a year sourcing and sampling factories to launch a colorful, fully synthetic (cruelty‑free) brush range they could market creatively.
They launched on 28 April 2014 as an “instabrand,” using pre-launch teasers and ongoing social engagement to drive sales—Twitter and Facebook now lead traffic while Instagram showcases the product visuals. Running on Shopify, they manage in‑house fulfillment with MyHermes (tracked shipping) and use Order Printer, Mailchimp, Abandon Cart and custom email templates for smooth operations. The result is steady, engaged growth driven by strong branding, photography and customer feedback.
