Sofa Club, a U.K. home-furnishings retailer that began on WordPress in 2012, migrated to Shopify and upgraded to Shopify Plus in 2018. Facing growth limits despite a busy pop-up retail program, the brand used Shopify Plus’s Merchant Growth Model to tackle three priorities: capture more customer emails, recover abandoned carts, and reduce negative Trustpilot reviews — then set measurable sales targets.
Following the MGM roadmap, Sofa Club installed Privy to capture 25,000 emails (converting nearly 100 customers for over £60,000), switched abandoned-cart outreach from email to SMS (recouping about £350,000), and incentivized Trustpilot reviews to improve balance and lower negative feedback from 25% to 19%. The changes helped Sofa Club exceed its MGM-informed sales target by £130,000 and drive total revenue up 244% year‑over‑year.
