Singular Society, a membership-based fashion and home goods retailer co-founded by Erik Zetterberg, faced the challenge of building a new business model without complex technological infrastructure. They needed a platform that would allow their small team to focus on product creation rather than managing technicalities, ensuring their subscription-based profit model could scale efficiently. They chose Shopify as their commerce platform.
By building on Shopify, Singular Society and their agency partner Woolman launched a custom membership solution. This allowed them to efficiently manage subscriptions and connect in-store purchases to online profiles. The results were significant: the lean team of 15 now manages over 3,000 SKUs and successfully launched in a new market, Norway, in under a month. Physical retail stores have also become a major growth channel. Shopify provided the stable and scalable infrastructure that enabled their unique business model to grow.
