Simba carefully, deliberately grew its global empire to $100 million+

Simba is a direct-to-consumer sleep-tech brand that launched in 2015 into a crowded mattress-in-a-box market and pursued a deliberate, research-driven global expansion. The challenge was to grow into new countries without feeling rushed or generic online—understanding local sleep habits, payment preferences, and the complexity of shipping, duties and multi-currency checkout were critical to winning customers in each market.

Using Shopify Plus, Simba built independent, localized storefronts from a single backend—tailoring messaging, imagery and checkout/payment options (for example, offering invoice-after-purchase in Germany) so shoppers could buy in their preferred currency and flow. The approach enabled launches in 10+ countries, multi-currency sales and scalable operations, helping Simba exceed $100 million in global revenue while continuing careful, market-by-market expansion.
