SaturdayClub, a Singapore-based fashion retailer, wanted to expand rapidly into global markets but found its previous ecommerce setup on Adobe Commerce and PrestaShop too slow, costly, and resource-intensive to support international launches. Each new market could take a month or more to deploy and cost over SG$10,000, while traffic spikes during peak periods also created downtime risk.
With Shopify Plus, implemented in late 2023 with agency partner Verz Design, SaturdayClub used expansion stores, site duplication, Checkout Extensibility, and APIs to launch and connect multiple international storefronts from a single dashboard. Shopify helped the brand open nine new markets in six months, achieve 5% month-on-month global customer growth, and deliver 38% year-over-year revenue growth in Malaysia during the 2024 Lunar New Year.
