Santa's Red Letter, a Utah-based family-run business, creates highly authentic, personalized letters from Santa—complete with North Pole postmarks, wax seals and even peppermint-scented paper. Launched in October 2013 and built entirely with family effort, the company initially saw virtually no traffic or sales despite numerous guerrilla marketing attempts and faced the added challenge of a very short, seasonal sales window.

The breakthrough came when bloggers and TV stations picked up the story around Black Friday, driving a flood of traffic and orders that forced the shop to close when capacity was reached just before Christmas.
