quip, founded in 2015, set out to make oral care more accessible with stylish, subscription-based toothbrushes, but its custom ecommerce platform became hard to scale and slowed product launches. To support faster growth and improve customer experience, quip turned to Shopify through a replatforming project led by Avex.
Shopify provided a scalable infrastructure, robust APIs, and app integrations, while Avex handled the migration, custom theme work, and subscription setup with Recharge. The move was completed in four months and delivered measurable gains, including a 70% decrease in customer experience cases for refill plan management and a 45% decrease in warranty-related cases, while also enabling faster content updates and stronger sales performance.
