Passenger Grows Cross-Border Revenue Mix from 1% to 40% in Two Years

Passenger, a UK-based sustainable outdoor apparel brand, wanted to expand internationally without creating separate stores or adding complexity to its operations. Using Shopify’s Markets and Shopify Payments, the company needed a way to unify the shopping experience across regions while also managing multiple currencies and reducing foreign exchange costs.

Shopify implemented Markets to launch and manage multiple international markets from a single store, and later added Multi-Currency Payouts to help Passenger hold and pay suppliers in local currencies. As a result, Passenger grew international sales from under 1% to 40% of total revenue in two years, streamlined checkout and reporting, eliminated weekly FX overhead, and improved operational efficiency as it scaled globally.
