Montessori 123 is a Seattle-based maker of Montessori teaching materials founded in 2007 by trained educators who saw a gap in the market. Their challenge was an aging osCommerce storefront that demanded too much time and money to maintain while they grew sales through trade shows, catalogs, and their website.

They migrated to Shopify and Shopify Payments, cutting payment costs and simplifying management, and added a predictive search app, Yotpo for reviews, and Chimpified for email capture; fulfillment is handled via Stamps.com/USPS. The move freed resources, helped the site become their primary showcase, and supported rapid growth—sales more than doubled in 2013 with another doubling on track for 2014.
