Mister Hound, a Melbourne-based maker of minimalist dog leashes and collars, launched to fill a gap between plain webbing and overly embellished designs. They produce rope leashes in-house with locally sourced materials and work with a China factory to turn rough sketches into leather and felt collars on low minimum orders.
After a first sales spike from an AdWords Express campaign, Mister Hound shifted focus to Instagram—where product photography and puppy content drive growing traffic—while continuing paid search. On the back end a Pixel Union theme replaced multiple apps (currency converter, banner, social feed), simplifying the store, and fulfillment is handled manually for now as they explore local courier options.
