John Kraft is a San Francisco–based artist who creates paintings, digital illustrations and limited‑edition prints and watches. He needed to move beyond traditional gallery channels to reach collectors worldwide and to build the trust and customer service required for high‑value online art sales while simplifying promotion, sales and fulfillment.
After moving to Shopify in 2012 he drove referral traffic via paid and organic social media and used integrated apps—Live Chat and Customer Reviews—to answer buyer questions and build confidence, especially for international customers. Combined with personal handling of worldwide shipping (and free U.S. shipping) and Shopify’s platform support, this approach simplified operations, strengthened collector relationships and boosted global sales.
