How SodaStream expanded its global direct-to-consumer offering and increased revenue by 20% with Shopify Plus

SodaStream, the eco-conscious sparkling water brand, needed a more flexible and unified e-commerce platform to replace a mix of Adobe Commerce and local solutions that were creating inefficiencies and limiting scale. Working with development agency BOA Ideas, the company turned to Shopify Plus to support its global direct-to-consumer ambitions and improve customer insights.

Shopify provided the infrastructure, integrations, and front-end flexibility SodaStream needed to launch and manage 16 websites across 15 countries in four years, while also building a data platform for more personalized commerce. As a result, SodaStream grew direct consumer sales from 2% to nearly 20% of total revenue and now manages data from more than 9 million consumers.
