A Shopify Case Study
Daniel Wellington, the Swedish affordable-luxury watch and accessories brand, was struggling with a costly and complex ecommerce setup built around CommerceTools and Contentful, plus an internally hosted ERP. With large IT teams, long development cycles, and multiple storefronts, launching changes and new features could take months or even years, slowing time-to-market.
Using Shopify Plus, Daniel Wellington simplified its stack with out-of-the-box functionality and app integrations, and with support from Shopify and Woolman, migrated 59 storefronts into 12 Shopify stores in just five months. The move cut licensing costs by more than 50%, saving about half a million euros annually, while dramatically speeding up product launches and enabling the team to do more with fewer resources.
