BoardwalkBuy, built by Amar Gandhi of AN Commerce, reimagined the failing flash-sale market that suffered from inflated merchant margins, poor fulfillment and massive tech overhead. Gandhi needed a scalable, flexible multi-vendor platform that would give customers genuine deals, hold merchants accountable, and cost far less than the $300K–$500K competitors had spent building custom systems.
Gandhi used the Shopify Plus API to build a custom flash-sale site with vendor dashboards, real-time order monitoring, automated reporting and vendor scoring, and the ability to scale for big traffic spikes—at a development cost of about $30,000. In 18 months the platform processed more than 1.2 million orders, generated $33.3M in revenue, delivered 200% year-over-year growth, and onboarded 50+ vendors who now self-manage uploads and fulfillment.
