Greats is a New York–based startup sneaker brand that launched a beta site in August. With no marketing budget, founders Ryan Babenzien and Jon Buscemi focused on design and experience, building an Instagram “mood board” from May 8 that grew to 8,400+ followers and established the brand’s aesthetic before products were even available.

They chose Shopify to build a clean, cohesive store quickly, using their clear visual vision to guide site flow and logistics. The approach paid off: on launch day (Aug 6) they surpassed first-month sales projections within 30 hours and earned coverage in GQ, Uncrate, Hypebeast, Highsnobiety and WWD in the first three days.
