Gas Art is a London-based gallery and online shop started by a former national newspaper art buyer who turned a market stall into a full-time business selling limited-edition prints, cards, t-shirts and homewares sourced from illustrators she worked with and artists she admired. The main challenge was scaling a successful real-world presence into a sustainable business—finding and curating the right products, building an audience beyond fairs, and developing an effective online presence while keeping the business personal and curator-led.

Gas Art grew visibility and its mailing list through summer fairs, Christmas shows, pop-ups and art fairs, then implemented Shopify with apps like Receiptful, Order Printer and a Facebook app to generate recommendations, manage orders and communicate with customers, with all shipping handled in-house. The result was immediate success at events (still the primary income source), increased website traffic and online sales of lower-priced items, and stronger customer relationships driven by quick, personal service.
