FilthyCasualCo is an Edmonton-based apparel brand run by two founders (Jason on business, Mike on art) that evolved from their original Cherry Sauce label after a joke during a livestream inspired a Filthy Casual logo. Starting with small runs of tees and hoodies printed by ThreadBird in the USA, their challenge was turning that viral moment into a sustainable business and growing sales without spending on paid marketing.
They solved this by focusing on Shopify for store management, organic community-building at game and comic conventions, and consistent social media using TweetDeck, Buffer and MailChimp; fulfillment and printing are handled through ThreadBird and ShipStation. The rebrand paid off: initial runs sold out quickly, Filthy Casual now outsells previous bestsellers, and traffic comes mainly from Google, direct visits and social media links that drive most sales.
