Encarded, a Sarasota-based maker of limited-edition collectible playing cards, launched in 2011 via Kickstarter and has since sold over 15,000 decks worldwide. After initial crowdfunding left several thousand decks to move, the founder needed an independent online store but found Magento too technically demanding to maintain.

The business migrated to Shopify, using entry‑level plans with PayPal and Shopify Payments, ShipRobot + USPS Endicia for label generation, Dymo printers for fulfillment, and MailChimp for email marketing. Shopify’s stability and integrations enabled fast order processing (including international orders), allowed the founder to hand‑pack items efficiently, and let email and social channels reliably drive repeat sales—making the operation far easier and more professional.
