Island Outfitters is a Connecticut-based boutique resort-wear retailer built around top coastal brands and a strong in-store experience. As the business expanded through founder Greg’s brand relationships and fast in-store sales, the main challenge became staying relevant online—driving website traffic, managing multi-store inventory and fulfillment, and translating their conversational, music-driven retail vibe to digital channels.

To address this they complemented their seven-store fulfillment model with an active website and social presence (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.), using simple analytics and management tools like TweetDeck and Facebook Insights to guide efforts. The result: brick-and-mortar remains the primary revenue driver, while the website and social channels—especially Instagram and Twitter—are now the second-largest source of traffic and help sustain rapid sales and customer engagement.
