Bytten is a Cambridge-based accessories brand founded by a designer/tech entrepreneur who wanted to make fitness trackers look like jewelry after finding available options unattractive. The challenge was turning a personal need into a scalable product line: rapid prototyping with 3D printing (via Shapeways) allowed fast design iteration, but the team had to find more cost-effective manufacturing for larger runs while building a brand on a startup budget.

They built the business organically through social media, blogger finds and placements in women’s health and lifestyle outlets, with traffic now coming from organic search, social channels and editorial mentions. Operationally they run on Shopify with Google Analytics, MailChimp, ShipWorks/Stamps.com and product reviews, fulfill orders in-house with high-touch packaging and customer service, and have seen steady growth and rising brand recognition — including a notable costume placement in a major film.
