Blenders Eyewear grew its Black Friday Cyber Monday sales 10X YoY

Blenders Eyewear is a direct-to-consumer fashion brand born on Shopify that faced a do-or-die Black Friday/Cyber Monday challenge as it tried to scale in a vertical heavily dominated by one competitor. Founder Chase Fisher needed a bold, nimble strategy to capture attention and handle peak traffic without manual firefighting during the critical weekend.

Blenders ran a three-part plan: an aggressive 3.5-week email and social build-up, a $343,200 ad push on Facebook and Instagram from Nov. 23–29, and deep promotions (55% off sunglasses, later 40% off snow goggles). Using Shopify Plus Launchpad to schedule theme and offer changes, the company grew Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales 10x year-over-year and followed with a 900% YoY sales increase in Q1 2018, while the platform reliably handled the traffic.
