AutoECMs is a family-run remanufacturer of engine computers based in Pittston, PA. Founder Bob got into the niche in the 1990s through his family’s auto repair shop as car electronics became essential, and by 2015 his daughter returned to overhaul the business’s online presence and get their full inventory live. They source stock through a monthly buy guide sent to core sellers and from auto recyclers, but faced the challenge of breaking through a competitive online market and improving search visibility.

They launched a new Shopify site optimized for SEO with pinnable photos, shareable URLs, link-building on forums and niche advertising, and improved product descriptions using richer HTML and keyword targeting. With Yotpo for customer reviews and a warehouse handling fulfillment, the site earned its first sale via Google and—after the product-description relaunch—saw improved rankings, traffic, and sales.
