Adorable Essentials is a Florida-based Shopify store launched a year ago to fill a gap the founder saw in boutique children's wear: affordable, everyday "essentials" that complete outfits for playgrounds and photos. Inspired by family tradition, she researched production, found a supplier to make the pieces she wanted, and initially tested demand by selling to Facebook friends.

She launched with a social-first approach and simple back-end tools—MailChimp, OrderCup, Dropbox—and runs the business from her smartphone. The first night she listed items she sold 30 pairs; a year later the store has made over 15,000 sales and drives traffic through mailing lists, Facebook ads, Instagram, Pinterest and local advertising.
