$100M BPI Sports is on pace to triple online sales while saving $4K/month after migration

BPI Sports, a Florida-based nutritional supplement company with more than $100M in wholesale business, needed to capture more direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales but was held back by a failing ecommerce stack (BigCommerce): frequent site errors, messy code, hard-to-parse customer data, and high development costs and friction that made scaling and site changes impractical.

In 2018 BPI replatformed to Shopify Plus, immediately cutting about $4,000/month in development fees and enabling in-house theme and feature changes and better testing. Within two months the site exceeded six-figure D2C sales in a 30‑day window and put the company on pace to triple annual online revenue, while improving data reliability, staff agility, and overall site reliability.
