Brand 9 Signs, a sign shop in Jacksonville, Florida, sought to change the nature of their business by integrating CNC technology. Their challenge was to successfully adopt this new capability to create intricate and high-quality signage efficiently. They partnered with ShopBot Tools, Inc. to purchase a PRSalpha ATC CNC system with a vacuum hold-down and an automatic tool changer.
ShopBot provided on-site installation and customized training for the Brand 9 Signs team, covering machine operation and VCarve Pro CAD/CAM software. For their first project, a detailed map of Manhattan, the ShopBot CNC used four different bits automatically to complete the machining in three hours. The immediate result was nine new orders for the product placed just hours after it was showcased online, demonstrating a rapid and successful integration of the new technology that allowed the shop to produce complex signs while tending to other business.
