Warner Brothers launches a fan mosaic campaign in 4 weeks with Shoothill

Warner Brothers faced the challenge of creating an innovative marketing campaign for the final Harry Potter film premiere. They tasked Shoothill, in conjunction with Microsoft and agency PHD, with developing a technology-driven initiative to promote the movie and engage the fan base on a tight timeline.

Shoothill developed a bespoke solution using its Megafiche technology, a modified version of Microsoft's Deepzoom, to create a massive online mosaic of 500,000 fan-submitted images. The campaign was a major success, receiving 50,000 uploads and significant public engagement. Shoothill printed and distributed 5,000 posters to fans and displayed the mosaic on public movie posters, exceeding client expectations and resulting in a nomination for an award for their agency partner.
