Mercy Hospital Uses Shoebox Audiometry for Occupational Hearing Testing

Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri uses SHOEBOX to support its Occupational Medicine and Wellness Services team, led by registered nurse Crystal Ray. The hospital needed a more flexible way to perform occupational hearing tests because its soundproof booth was located across campus and often unavailable, which limited scheduling and reduced the number of clients they could serve.

SHOEBOX provided an iPad-based audiometry solution that can be used outside the sound booth in automated or manual mode, allowing Mercy Hospital staff to administer hearing tests conveniently at their clinic or at client facilities. With SHOEBOX, Crystal and her team gained scheduling flexibility and portability, and Crystal reported that in just three months she had already achieved 70% of her annual audiogram goal, significantly increasing test volume.
