A SHOEBOX Case Study
Kingsway Health Centre, a multidisciplinary primary care clinic in Manotick, Ontario, wanted a better way to screen older adult patients for “neck-up” issues that are often overlooked during annual exams, especially hearing loss, cognitive decline, mood, and fall risk. The clinic needed a simple, efficient hearing assessment that could be integrated into its broader geriatric testing workflow.
To address this, Kingsway Health Centre adopted SHOEBOX Audiometry, a tablet-based hearing test that can be used outside a sound booth in either manual or automated mode. With SHOEBOX, the clinic has completed approximately 450 hearing tests since 2017, helping identify patients who need referral, streamline follow-up with hearing specialists, and support more efficient billing and care coordination.
