A SHOEBOX Case Study
Faircast, an Iowa-based casting company, needed a better way to handle OSHA-mandated annual hearing tests for employees. Its outsourced mobile audiometric testing model created major scheduling headaches, disrupted production, and made it difficult to complete baseline tests for new hires on time. Faircast turned to SHOEBOX Audiometry and its out-of-the-booth hearing testing platform to bring the program in-house.
With SHOEBOX, Faircast switched to a more flexible, rolling testing schedule that let employees be tested individually without shutting down departments or waiting in long lines. The mobile audiometer was easy for multiple staff members to use in quiet areas of the facility, improved the employee experience, and enabled same-day baseline testing during onboarding. SHOEBOX also reduced program costs by eliminating expensive onsite clinic visits and off-site retests, while saving the company time and minimizing production disruption.
