Traditional brick and mortar retailer finds success in multi-channel sales

Best Buy Canada, a long-established brick-and-mortar electronics retailer, faced the common challenge of shifting to multi-channel commerce: expanding beyond stores into direct-to-consumer online sales, growing its product assortment (from about 8,500 SKUs in 2014 to 60,000+), and solving fulfillment gaps because its distribution centers were not set up for individual order delivery across Canada.

To address this, Best Buy partnered with Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services to leverage an established warehouse network and dropship capabilities. Starting with a few pallets per week and scaling to multiple daily truckloads, the collaboration enabled reliable omnichannel fulfillment, broader product availability and a seamless customer experience — driven by a partnership approach focused on innovation and customer needs.
