How Chattanooga Beard Co. Grew Online with ShipStation

Chattanooga Beard Co., founded in 2017 to sell premium beard care products locally, wanted to expand online but was held back by high shipping costs and slow manual fulfillment — at one point a 20‑minute shipment cost $14. After bringing on Todd Preston to scale the business, they needed a shipping solution that would make ecommerce sustainable.

They moved to ShipStation, easily integrating their Squarespace store and a Stamps.com account, and used ShipStation’s account support and automation rules to switch lightweight orders from UPS to USPS and select services by product weight (under 1 lb → First Class; over 1 lb → Priority). The change cut shipping costs by roughly $10 per shipment, enabled nationwide sales, reduced fulfillment from days to the capacity to process hundreds of orders a day, and freed the team to focus on marketing and product development.
