Luckyleo Dancewear, founded in 2015 by Karen Saari and her daughters Chelsea and Heather, is a family-run, U.S.-made dance apparel brand that now serves customers in 50+ countries and ships hundreds of orders a month. Starting with no outside funding and small-scale production, the team had to pivot from bridal work, scale manufacturing, and align product and customer service with market demand.

They put customers at the center of design and operations—using Instagram engagement and feedback to guide hand-drawn prints that are printed on fabric, then hand-cut and sewn in the U.S., and reframing customer service as a relationship-building opportunity. The result is a 13-person team, a strong social following, sold-out lines (such as popular skirts), steady international sales, and ongoing plans to restock and expand their offerings.
