A ShipHawk Case Study
Kalalou, a 30-year leader in home accents, garden decor and gifts, faced costly manual, paper-based warehouse operations across four onsite and one offsite warehouses with roughly 80 trailers onsite. The company struggled with multi-PO containers, backorders, replenishment between yard trailers and offsite facilities, poor cube utilization, and inaccurate cycle counts. To address these issues Kalalou selected ShipHawk and its ShipHawk WMS (formerly SuiteWM).
ShipHawk implemented a wireless, handheld-driven WMS with real-time dashboards, directed putaway, auto-replenishment visibility and single-click shipping. Since the 2009 rollout Kalalou doubled packing productivity (from 11 to 22 boxes/hour), scaled order processing from ~300–400/day to 1,700+ orders, improved inventory accuracy, reduced pack lists from six pages to one, increased cube utilization, and shortened onboarding time for temporary workers — all enabled by ShipHawk’s system and operator-performance monitoring.
