BAKblade, a DIY men’s back and body shaver that went viral after raising about $1.41M in crowdfunding, faced a sudden need to scale fulfillment for 20,000–30,000 units and fast-growing ecommerce demand. To solve that challenge they partnered with ShipBob for ecommerce fulfillment, tapping ShipBob’s fulfillment centers and technology to handle large order volume and integrate with their Shopify Plus store.
ShipBob provided multi-warehouse fulfillment (five U.S. centers and expansion into Canada), live inventory management, a dedicated account manager, and 2-Day Express shipping options. As a result of the partnership with ShipBob, BAKblade grew 291% since 2016, reached $10M in annual sales by 2018, improved delivery speed and customer satisfaction, and saw a measurable spike in conversions from ShipBob’s 2-Day Express feature.
