Kraft Heinz Canada launches 100% compostable Maxwell House pods with Shikatani Lacroix Design

Kraft Heinz Canada faced the challenge of launching one of the first zero-waste coffee pod products in the Canadian market. They needed to educate consumers on their role in the zero-waste process and overcome skepticism by being completely transparent, all while assuring customers of the product's great taste. They partnered with design vendor Shikatani Lacroix Design for package and conceptual design to address this.

Shikatani Lacroix Design created an award-winning package that utilized a textured craft paper look with a pop of green to achieve strong shelf impact. The solution featured a bold front-panel message and detailed back-panel storytelling to educate consumers and provide easy-to-follow disposal instructions. The vendor's design successfully made sustainability shopable, resulting in a product that proved quality and environmental goals are not mutually exclusive.
