Randolph Health, a 145-bed nonprofit hospital in Asheboro, NC, faced confusion and tracking errors from Excel-based scheduling that kept them from enforcing staffing guidelines and flexing to large, unpredictable patient-volume swings. To improve access, ease of use and reduce overtime, Randolph Health selected ShiftWizard’s workforce management software.

ShiftWizard implemented a customizable scheduling solution that embedded Randolph Health’s staffing rules, provided mobile access and labor-utilization data; within nine months more than 350 staff were using the system. ShiftWizard’s platform improved staff and management satisfaction, enabled faster redeployment to cover patient surges, and helped the hospital target a reduction in in-house overtime from about 4% toward 2.5%, with integrations to Kronos and Meditech planned for tighter productivity measurement.
