Texas Medical Clinic Replaces Legacy Disc Technology with Next Generation Storage Solution

Central Texas Medical Clinic, a healthcare provider with hundreds of practitioners across 15 locations, was struggling with a critical medical billing application that was slowly failing and causing major outages and performance issues. SHI International Corp. was brought in to investigate the problem, along with Pure Storage and Cisco UCS technology, after internal efforts failed to resolve the issue.

SHI International Corp. performed a hardware and platform analysis, identified that the root cause was the clinic’s outdated data center architecture, and implemented a solution using two Pure Storage M20 arrays and seven Cisco UCS servers. The new setup improved application performance and efficiency, reduced rack space from 30 units to three, lowered power and cooling costs, and delivered a more reliable, future-proof environment in eight months.
