Barnsley College launches 60-station esports facility with SHI International Corp.

Barnsley College, a further education college in Northern England, sought to transform student lives by establishing the UK's first college esports curriculum. Their challenge was to create a sector-leading, future-proofed esports facility as part of an £8 million investment in their digital learning space, requiring innovative technology solutions. SHI implemented a comprehensive solution, providing a suite of high-spec PCs, monitors, desks, gaming chairs, and custom vinyl and staging work to create a fully integrated facility. This resulted in the installation of 60 gaming stations for 120 students. The outcomes were significant, leading to better student grades, varied employment opportunities, a higher rate of university progression, and an "Outstanding" rating from Ofsted for the college.
