Comcab powers 2,500 black cab drivers with Sherlock Taxi

Comcab, London's largest fleet of black taxis and part of the Addison Lee Group, faced challenges in efficiently dispatching its 2,500 drivers due to complex regional licensing rules for black cabs. They also needed to integrate taxi meters with card machines to meet licensing obligations and support a public sector travel scheme. Comcab partnered with Sherlock Taxi to implement its dispatch software to address these specific operational and regulatory needs.

Sherlock Taxi developed a highly configurable dispatch system with complex algorithms to automate driver allocation based on regional badges. Their solution included an integration that linked taxi meters to the dispatch system and delivered bespoke functionality for London's public sector scheme. The implementation was supported with on-site technical staff and training. As a result, Comcab's drivers provided overwhelmingly positive feedback, and the leadership team no longer needs workaround solutions, allowing them to operate the business exactly as they want while meeting all regulatory requirements. Sherlock Taxi's technology also paves the way for Comcab's taxis to be available across all of Addison Lee's booking platforms.
