A SheerID Case Study
Grizzly Industrial, founded in 1983, is a direct-to-user machinery retailer serving shops of all sizes across the U.S. They wanted to launch an exclusive military appreciation program with limited-time discounts for active-duty service members, veterans, and military retirees, but needed a reliable way to ensure only qualified military customers could redeem the offers.
Grizzly partnered with SheerID to host a custom landing page with military verification and single-use coupon codes for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Veterans Day promotions. The community response was strong and SheerID prevented fraud, protecting margins: 17% of redemption attempts were ineligible (nearly half of those claimed to be veterans), and verified customers were 6% active duty, 22% retirees, and 72% veterans. Additional insights included that only 22% of retirees identified as retirees, 47% of 4th of July shoppers bought on the actual holiday, and interest grew 15% between the first and third sale.
