AMRC, part of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, needed a better way to connect low-TRL research and capability-building work to the future industrial challenges it would help solve. Their existing technology roadmaps were becoming noisy and difficult to navigate across the wide range of technologies and sectors they support, making it hard to show clear links between activities and long-term value. SharpCloud provided the product used to tackle this challenge.

With SharpCloud for Enterprise, AMRC was able to link multiple roadmap stories and data strands, filter information for different audiences, and drill into detail when needed. SharpCloud gave senior management much greater visibility across the portfolio, helped AMRC communicate more effectively with more than 100 commercial members, and made it faster to build business cases for future investment by connecting current activities to long-term industry needs. The case study highlights improved portfolio management, better use of resources, and more efficient input from members, with the result that AMRC can more quickly align funding opportunities and technology strategy.
