Studiotime, founded by Mike Williams, set out to solve a simple but common problem: musicians struggled to find, compare and book recording studios through informal networks. To validate the idea quickly, Mike built an "Airbnb for music studios" prototype using Sharetribe, launching on Sharetribe Go the same evening and posting it to Product Hunt.

Using Sharetribe allowed Studiotime to go live instantly and scale: the site drew over 1,000 signups within hours, grew to list studios in more than 36 countries, and converted many studios to a paid subscription model. After initial validation on Sharetribe Go, Mike migrated to Sharetribe Flex to build a custom marketplace experience faster and cheaper (about one‑tenth the time and cost of building from scratch), helping Studiotime become the largest online marketplace for renting music studios.
