A SHARE Mobility Case Study
a mid-size midwest manufacturing city faced a challenge providing equitable transit to its residents. Its pen-and-paper dispatch system was inefficient and could not handle the demand for ADA and on-demand trips, which had become a public safety issue. The city needed a unified platform to manage both fixed-route and demand-responsive service that was also accessible to riders without smartphones.
SHARE Mobility implemented its platform to manage scheduling, dispatch, routing, and rider booking from a single system. This allowed the city to retire its legacy process entirely. As a result, ridership quadrupled, growing from serving roughly 1 in 100 residents to 1 in 25, while also expanding the service area beyond county lines.
