A Shapr3D Case Study
Dometic Designs, a Stockholm-based company that creates products for mobile living such as refrigerators, A/C systems, and batteries, needed a better way for its design team to communicate and iterate on early concepts. Head of product design Samuele wanted a workflow that supported fast concept sharing, easy edits, and stronger collaboration with design and R&D teams, especially while working across locations and on the move. Shapr3D on the iPad became part of that concept-design workflow.
Using Shapr3D, Dometic Designs could build solid-model concept designs, export them in STEP or X_T for further development in SolidWorks, and create 2D outputs for marketing and internal communication. The team also used Shapr3D to import parts and mass studies as references, while the app’s handling of larger assemblies on the iPad Pro helped support heavier files. Shapr3D improved the speed and clarity of concept communication, though the case study does not provide specific numerical impact metrics.
