Groen & Boothman create unique luxury bracelets with ShapeWays 3D printing

Dutch designers Hanno Groen and Joanna Boothman sought to create a series of highly customized, luxurious bracelets that were as unique as fingerprints, which presented a significant challenge for conventional manufacturing techniques. They partnered with ShapeWays and utilized its 3D printing services to bring their Creatures bracelet series to life.

ShapeWays enabled the designers to employ a 3D design process using mathematical algorithms to achieve perfectly controlled randomness in each piece. The solution combined 3D printing with handcrafted techniques, resulting in lightweight bracelets with strong, flexible internal structures. The primary benefits achieved by using ShapeWays' 3D printing over conventional methods included the ability to create spectacular, customized jewelry that stands the test of time as elegant keepsakes.
