A ShapeWays Case Study
Groen & Boothman, a Dutch design duo, faced the challenge of creating their intricate "Elements" series of luxury bracelets. They required a manufacturing process capable of producing highly complex, one-of-a-kind designs that would be impossible to achieve with traditional methods, leading them to partner with vendor Shapeways and its 3D printing services.
Shapeways implemented a solution using 3D printing to create the precise wax molds for the bracelets, which were then cast in silver. This process allowed for extreme customization and intricate detail. The result was a line of stunning luxury keepsakes, with each piece being hand-polished for hours or even days to achieve a perfect finish. Shapeways enabled the designers to successfully bring their visionary jewelry concepts to life.
