ShapesXR unlocks a brand new way of designing mixed reality apps

Nanome, a VC-backed software company creating a collaborative XR platform for molecular design, faced challenges in rapidly iterating on spatial app designs for the new Meta Quest Pro headset. Using standard 2D tools like Figma was slow and failed to convey the XR experience, making their designers heavily dependent on Unity engineers for prototyping, which stifled innovation and was costly.

ShapesXR provided a collaborative VR environment that allowed Nanome's designers to ideate and prototype directly in 3D. This solution dramatically accelerated their design process. The time to create a shareable VR prototype was cut from 10 days to just 1. Designers gained autonomy, communication improved, and engineers were freed to focus on development rather than building explorative test builds, ultimately allowing Nanome to efficiently adapt its platform for mixed reality.
