Faster design of spatial data interfaces for enterprise use cases

BadVR, an LA-based startup that creates immersive data visualization tools, faced the challenge of designing intuitive spatial interfaces for their weather data application, AtmosVR. Their remote team struggled with traditional 2D design tools to prototype complex 3D user interactions, a process that was further complicated by their geographically dispersed workforce.

Using ShapesXR as a VR prototyping tool, BadVR streamlined their design and communication process. This solution enabled faster ideation, collaborative spatial brainstorming, and a more efficient transition from design to implementation in Unity. As a result, ShapesXR helped cut design concept time in half, from four hours to two, and reduced the number of iterations needed. The overall design process became three times faster, allowing the team to move from concept to Unity implementation in one week instead of three.
