Preview of the International Treatment Prevention Coalition (itpc) Case Study

itpc drives global vaccine equity with Shape History in 18 months

The International Treatment Prevention Coalition (itpc), a world leader in medical equity, faced the challenge of unequal Covid-19 vaccine access due to the WTO's TRIPS agreement, which prevented many countries from producing affordable vaccines. They partnered with the agency Shape History to launch a campaign to raise global awareness and lobby the WTO for change.

Shape History developed and executed the integrated "Make Medicines Affordable" campaign. Over 18 months, the campaign generated significant global media coverage, built pressure on key decision-makers, and successfully led to a full reform of the TRIPS agreement. This reform allowed for local, affordable vaccine production, ultimately impacting millions of lives around the world.
